When it comes to getting to know someone, there’s no better way than sharing a hobby. You may not expect it, but you can actually bond with someone you may not necessarily see eye to eye with. In this article, I’ll share my experience with unexpectedly bonding with my stepsister through the power of a mutual hobby.
These Aren’t Normal Bonding Activities: After my parents got remarried, I was on the lookout for things to bond with my new sibling over. We hung out, played board games, and watched some TV but I was still waiting for the big moment when I realized we truly had something in common. That moment eventually did come – but I didn’t expect it to be what it was.
I was shocked to find out that my stepsister also liked to watch horror movies. I never expected this but I was stoked that we could finally share something that we both enjoyed. We immediately created a list of horror movies to watch and we made it a weekly tradition to hunker down in the basement and watch them together. It’s been a great way for us to bond and test our bravado at the same time.
