FULAFIA or the Federal University of Lafia was first established in the year 2011 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The meaning of word Lafia means peace or in other words good health.
The Nigerian government felt that there was a need for an education system that will promote a higher education system amongst the younger generation thus enabling them to get higher positions in the future.

Admissions via UTME:
Admission to FULAFIA University can be through the UTME route, which means the candidate must have five credit passes at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), GCE, NECO, or equivalent in relevant subjects, where there should be no more than two sittings, and he or she should have scored marks of 180 or above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
University also stresses the requirement that the student has credit passes in English Language and Mathematics to the students.
The University will then have a JAMB screening to make sure that the best students only get admitted. Along with these criteria, the student is also required to meet some of the specific departmental requirements
Admission via Direct Entry mode
To be admitted to the 200 level, a student must have obtained five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English, at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), GCE, NECO, or equivalent, in no more than two sittings.
Along with this, the student must also have at least two advanced level passes in the General Certificate of Education examination in relevant subjects or an Ordinary National Diploma with credit level or Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with Credit level.
